Scotland
Both sides of my family are from Scotland:
My Dad's parents first came here because my grandparents wanted a better life: they were living in a two-bedroom apartment with six people. Wanting more opportunities and a job, my grandfather moved the family to Scarborough. My maternal grandparents still live in Scotland. maintaining a connection to my ancestors I share the same passion for soccer as my granddad did and enjoy watching soccer games with him especially our favourite team Celtic and the Scottish national team ; We love going to the Highland games it is a way for are family to connect with are past family members and are other family members that are currently living there; One of my family traditions is every time we go back to Scotland we visit the Capital of Scotland where all the history is including Edinburgh Castle

Scotland's Tourist Attractions
- Edinburgh Castle- The main tourist attraction in the capital of Scotland Edinburgh, It is home to the tattoo festival every year. It also is open daily to the public for war reenactments, The national War Museum of Scotland, and the one o'clock gun.
- Stirling Castle and the William Wallace Monument- In the city of Sterling they have the William Wallace Monument, and Stirling Castle. Inside the castle they have a museum just about William Wallace.
- Loch Ness- At Loch Ness they have lots of old ruined castles but is is most famous for the old myth of the Loch Ness Monster " Nessie"
- St Andrews- St Andrew's is a town that has some of the best history in my opinion. It is the home of golf and has hosted the British open many times. The town is all about golf every store, restaurant, and hotel near by has golf pictures or clothes/equipment for sale.

Pat I love how your family goes to soccer games together I think that's so fun!! Is that all your family does to reconnect with each other? What other kind of traditions do you have?
ReplyDeletePatrick i like how you showed and explained briefly some of the famous tourist attractions in Scotland, that definitely tought me something new. I would like to here more about how your family ended up in Orangeville all the way from Scotland then to Scarborough.
ReplyDeleteYour family was very interesting to learn about. It was enjoyable to learn about a family that even though they immigrated from their home they still stayed in touch with the traditions and celebrations that take place in Scotland. Also intriguing that you travel back to scotland a lot because you are so in touch with your heritage and your pride for cultural is very motivational. It is very important that everyone stay close to where they came from because that is what separates Canadians from one another.
